China Moments: Day 3
Early next morning, we quickly made our way to Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge, as we wanted to beat the crowd. For that, we had to wake up at about 5.30am!
Little eyes against the bright sun...
After which we made our way to Xuanwu Lake to catch a view of the city in the background.
Hazy skies kind of spoiled our view, but I'm not sure why I like the picture above =)
After lunch, we hopped onto our coach once again, and headed to Wuxi. It's funny how we were in Nanjing but there wasn't much mention about the City Wall of Nanjing by our tour guide...
We boarded a boat at Taihu Lake, which brought us to XiShi Island. It's a place where they created a man-made beach, which isn't the best place for swimming, yet many people do so because it is free. Anyway, we strolled along the beach for a short which was at the Fisherman's Islet, and by then, the weather was getting very hot!
We then made our way to Lihu Lake Scenic Area (left picture), where we got to see the real water movements of Taihu. It was surprisingly choppy given that it is just a lake.
Moving on, we headed to Zhongshan Road for yet another 3-hour shopping and dinner-at-our-own expense.
As the restaurant that we wanted to try was just way too crowded, we decided to give one of the other restaurants a try. Once again, our choice was the right one, as we enjoyed a very special fried rice, deliciously cooked vegetables, and yummilicious roasted delights! Dinner can't get any better =)
After dinner, with just a little bit more time to spare, we decided to walk along the streets for some quick shots. Don't the pictures just remind you slightly of Orchard Road?
