China Moments: Day 4
Having covered most of our itinerary in Wuxi, we were due for 2 of Wuxi's designated 'shopping' venues before moving on to the next state.
Having discovered the hotel's nice fountain at their entrance, I thought of taking a picture of it for keepsakes. Who knew that the Boy would do the same thing to me as he did to me 2 years ago! He made me block a full whole fountain!! Zzzz....
Anyway, the shopping venues we were brought to were the Fresh Water Pearl Cultivation Centre and the Wuxi Zisha Centre. There, he got me a lovely (but more affordable) pearl necklace, while I got myself a green zisha cup for my green tea drinks =) Zisha nowadays are slowly becoming rarer, so if you ever got your hands on one, do not let it go!
Having finished our shopping, we headed off to Suzhou.
Our first stop was Ou Yuan, a residential garden built during the Qing Dynasty. There, we went crazy shooting...
We even took a mini boat ride just around the corner, driven by a very fit 60 plus year old auntie!
After that, we made our way to Yuanrong Times Square and Suzhou Industrial Park, the two places where it is known as another 'Singapore', a place for the rich...
The largest LED screen in the world, one which is not turned on except for special occasions in order to save electricity...
Us discovering Coco bubble tea and enjoying every minute of it!
At the ''Golden Chicken' aka Jinji Lake.
Our 3 hours of shopping-cum-dinner this time round was at Pingjing Street. While we had lots of free time to kill at Nanjing and Wuxi, we felt that 3 hours in Suzhou was too short! This time round, we were able to find clothes that we liked and could fit, and also discover a bookstore where we could look for photo books of the country for our collection. Bah, Murphy's Law just has to strike...
With so little time left to eat, we quickly chose any restaurant we laid our eyes on. And yes, beef noodles was the menu for dinner, as we had yet another delicious meal... Seems like our choices so far have been kind to us =)
