New Year's Eve

Raphel and I decided to spend our New Year's eve at Clarke Quay, as we went to Central for some window shopping, hoping that we can catch the festivities later on in the area.

That was when we decided to indulge in our all-time favourite Japanese cuisine, with Waraku as our choice of restaurant.

Check out his happy face just by looking at the food!!

Anyway, after dinner, we realised that we were actually a tad too early, as the events only begin at 10pm! With us not willing to wait for such a long time, we decided to take a slow walk to City Hall area to just check out the crowd, before making our way back (I do not take to crowds too well, hence the decision to miss the fireworks this year).

That was when we discovered the very lovely Elgin Bridge. I never knew that they lit it as well, as I actually spent a long time trying to grab a nice picture of it with a bumboat in view.

And I felt that red was actually the nicest of the colours.

But well, I guess the best part was having him by my side, as always =)

Here's to our first New Year together, with many more to come I'm sure =D

Japanese Garden

Throughout my entire life, I've never been to the Japanese Garden. So, the 'Mountain Tortoise' me decided that this can no longer continue, as I decided that it's time for me to make a trip down. And with Raphel staying so close to the two gardens, he gleefully accompanied me.

After a very long and painful walk to the Japanese Garden (no thanks to my new ballet shoes), we finally made it!! While the entrance boasts nothing except for a white pebble path and some greens, the inside had a more picturesque view, with the pond and its bridges.

Because of the 'ulu-ness' of its venue, there weren't many people there except for avid bird photographers and portraiture photographers. Hence, we were treated to a nice and peaceful walk, much to our delight. (In case anyone does not know what does 'ulu' means, it is 'inaccessible' in Malay, I think)

Anyway, to commemorate my first time there, we definitely took pictures of ourselves at the venue.

And I guess what's most memorable about these photos was that due to low people traffic in the park, we had to take pictures by placing the camera on whatever we can find. The top picture was taken while placing the camera on a tree, the bottom was on a rock. So during these times, we were either worried if the camera would fall off the tree, or whether or not we could run back in time to our place due to the vast distance we had to cover.

A memorable time indeed! (Though I'm sure this will not be our one and only visit to the Japanese Garden)... =)

Fullerton Furore

Our busy work schedule saw us catching a short getaway from the fast-paced working environment, indulging in a weekend chill out at Fullerton. The fact that Fullerton-Singapore is known to be a classy and posh hotel, all the more did we want to give it a try staying there. And we were not disappointed at all! The experience we had there was truly top-notch. Great food, good service, good scenery and most importantly, shiok getaway. =)

Scenes of the hotel and our views...

While we were there, our promotion entitled us to in-room 4 course meal from the Hotel's restaurants. Presenting delicacies from the Town Restaurant:
