Italian Fine Dining
Seeing how The Lighthouse at the Fullerton had an Italian Fining Dining lunch promotion, I thought why not give it a try the next day after we landed back in Singapore, especially when both of us also took leave to rest and relax for just one more day.
Located right at the top of the hotel, we were greeted with friendly staff and a nice ambience.
The happy Boy with his bread.
Our foccacia bread with black olive spread. I cannot help but fall in love with this bread, because it is just oh-so-yummy! One thing interesting to note was that we were given sparkling water as our drink. I remembered last time when we were in Hong Kong, the sparkling water that we bought was pretty nasty. But this time round, we were surprised that it tasted pretty nice. And it had better be considering that it cost $10 per bottle!
While waiting for our food, we were given a complimentary dish from the hotel. I cannot really remember tha name of the dish, though I do remember that it contained salmon.
Being a 3 course meal, our appetisers were simply mouthwatering, particularly the wagyu beef.
Left: Buffalo mozzarella with candied tomato petals, green beans and caprese sauce
Right: Wagyu beef carpaccio with basil, anchovies dressing, parmiagiano cheese and mixed salad
Our main course:
Left: Butternut squash tortelloni with light parmigiano cheese and thyme fondue, and crispy pancetta
Right: Drum wheat spaghetti, tomato sauce with fresh ligurian basil
The star is of course the tortelloni, of which has gotten many good reviews from others.
Faces of satisfied diners =)
Our desert for the day is actually Pink guava sorbet with mixed fruits. Reminds me very much of my kiwi sorbet in Restaurant City, a game that I am playing in Facebook =P
At the end of the day, we were very happy customers who were surprisingly satiated! I thought with all the fine dining, we would not be full. But I guess due to my love for the foccacia bread, coupled with sparkling water, one gets full really easily!
