Steve McCurry's The Unguarded Moment

Chanced upon the newspapers that the photographer who took the famous "Afghan Girl" photograph for National Geographic Magazine is in town! As such, how can two photo buffs miss this exhibition? =)

Steve McCurry is the name of the famous photographer, as the Boy and I made our way to the Asian Civilisation Museum. Who knew that it was both our first time there =)

Although the whole exhibition was a little small, that did not stop us from admiring the rest of Steve's works. They were really really cool with lovely angles...

Here's a quote from him that I like:

Most of my photos are grounded in people, I look for the unguarded moment, the essential soul peeking out, experience etched on a person’s face. I try to convey what it is like to be that person, a person caught in a broader landscape, that you call the human condition... If you wait, people will forget your camera and the soul will drift up into view. - Steve McCurry

Reminds me a lot of my past when I used to wait before snapping a shot of people in action =)

How I wish that one day, I can have my own gallery of photos =)

Anyway, after much deliberation, we finally got our picture taken together by a very nice uncle. His wife said that we were lucky to have chosen him cause he is 'pro', as I quote from her. But then again, we purposely chose him, for he really did look professional =)
